P.I. Works Listed in Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Communications Service Provider Operations, 2020

The Gartner Hype Cycle for Communications Service Provider Operations, 2020 has recently published, which sheds light on the technology trends in the telecommunications market. P.I. Works is once again listed as a Sample Vendor in the CSP AI (Communication Service Provider Artificial Intelligence) category of the report. The report is published on July 22, 2020 on Gartner’s website and it highlights the market adoption and business impact of key technologies for CSP operations (Gartner subscription required). In our view, this is a valuable report as it provides and impartial view of the technologies that will have a notable impact on CSPs’ efficiency, service quality and pace of transformation throughout their life time.

The report states that “AI promises to be one of the most disruptive and
 innovative classes of technologies in the next 10 years and has been identifed as top game-changer technology by CSP CIOs. Further, 40% of the CSP CIO respondents are already implementing or plan to implement AI within 12 months. The disruptive nature of AI is a result of the increasing demand for vendors to create insights and outcomes from advances in emerging AI technologies and techniques.”

P.I. Works has kick-started a number of AI projects with Tier 1 mobile operators in 2019. Those efforts bore fruit, GSMA recognized P.I. Works’ AI solutions in their report in 2019. In 2020, Gartner recognized P.I. Works as a Sample Vendor of CSO AI . Some examples to P.I. Works AI based solutions include predictive analytics for network capacity planning, traffic load level prediction and smart energy saving. Outcomes of the first deployments of AI based automation solutions proved their success with millions of dollars of additional OpEx and CapEx savings as compared to conventional automation solutions.
