Herndon, VA USA -April, 2015 – P.I.Works participated in the IWPC Interactive Workshop sponsored by Sprint called Evolving SON beyond Network Efficiency. Our Technology Director, Serkan Sofuoglu presented a paper on Centralized Self-Organizing Network (C-SON) titled Real World Deployments of Centralized SON. The paper covered specific field results of SON use cases taken from P.I.Works worldwide deployments of automated SON. The paper also surveyed future trends in SON. P.I.Works made a proposal on a set of action items for equipment vendors and Mobile operators to make the most of the promising SON technology to bring cost savings and quality improvements.
The paper was well-received by a broad spectrum of equipment vendors, Mobile Operators, and solution providers in attendance. There were numerous questions fielded by the presenter. A lively technical discussion ensued during the presentation.
At the end of the workshop, P.I.Works was awarded with an IWPC member t-shirt due to being `Most Active Participant` during sessions throughout the event.
